Water Pyramid (Sisyphus)

In,- or outdoor, large kinetic water-driven fountain sculpture for public places.

The Water Pyramid SISYPHUS is a public fountain design. At the acrylic tip of the Pyramid, water wells out, carrying small, lottery-type, numbered balls that descend on all 4 sides of the Pyramid. As they make their way down through a maze of numerous acrylic triangles, some are captured by these triangles and returned to the circulation mechanism inside, to start the circle all over again.

The "lucky" ones (balls) make it all the way down without being "captured", and so have a reprieve - swimming in the water of the fountain basin, where they are finally again guided to the to the circulation mechanism inside, - to start the circle again.

There are also a very few, "really lucky" ones (balls), that make it all the way down without being "captured" AND then find the one passage to safety, where they can rest without having to return to the circular system...

The fountain is stunningly attractive at night, when the powerful lights inside the pyramid light up all the acrylic triangles as well as the acrylic pyramid top.

This design is shown here in a rudimentary study form, with only a few acrylic triangles, without balls, fountain basin, nor water.
