ONYX
In and Outdoor, large Dichroic Glass and Metal,
Light and Water sculpture
for public
fountains, reflective pools and lakes.
ONYX is a monumental 26ft kinetic LIGHT & WATER
landmark made out of chrome steel and suspended glass discs.
These discs consist of specially coated dichoic glass which very subtly
reflects light with yellow-magenta-blue-cyan tint, depending on the
viewing angle (please see below). It makes for a shimmering, and intriguing
light effect, both day and night!
Extra large air bubbles emerge slowly from the
bottom of the ONYX. As they rise, the gently
move the discs into a serene swaying motion, which in turn leads to multiple
color shadows cast on the surrounding floor.
This again is a SEE THROUGH type of monumental water sculpture
fountain, which acts as an animated LIGHT BEACON, visible from far and wide.
ONYX will be custom sized from 26ft
(Indoor) all the way to 90ft, depending on the site and environment and to match
the space and reflective pool or fountain proportions.
It can be self contained on land, or water can flow over the top, down
the outside and into a basin or reflective pool or lake.
It is also possible to use multiple, different sized ONYXs, in order
to create a most impressive entry or border....
With the use of RGB LEDs it is possible to program
subtle color shifts and gradations throughout the sculpture(s) which will
reflect back to the surrounding floor or water.
